Kochi, 20th September, 2010: Kerala has given birth to many a talent in the fields of literature, art and culture. To promote and encourage art and upcoming talented artistes of the city, Magma Fincorp Limited, India's leading retail finance company is holding a two day Painters' Workshop at a city banquet.

The Magma Painters' Workshop, which began today, has 10 promising city artistes colouring the canvas with their unique imagination. The workshop was graced by Mr. C N Karunakaran, Chairman, Kerala Lalithakala Academy and actress Urmila Unni.

"Magma has always encouraged and nurtured talents in the field of art. We are holding Magma Painters' Workshop for the past few years in Kolkata and decided to take this activity on a national level. Kochi is the first place, beyond Kolkata, where we are holding this workshop. We plan to take the workshop to North and Western part of the country too and provide a platform to the young artists a chance to showcase their talent", said Mr Dhrubashish Bhattacharya, Vice President, Magma Fincorp Limited.

The participating young artists are Amal Francis E, Eldho George, Nithu A. Mathew, Nishad M Y, Meenu O, Jyothsh T.P., Ashil Antony, P. Ramesh, Ramesh Ravi & Rahul R.
